Sunshine Banff

Sunshine Banff

Hello again! 🙂

Today was my adventure to the beautiful Banff for some snowboarding at Sunshine. The views did not disappoint nor did the slopes.

The day started off at 6 am (ish – took Sam and I a while to get out of bed) and then we headed off to Banff from Calgary for a fun filled day of snowboarding. We arrived at Banff around 8:30 and headed up the gondola to the top of the mountain. I’ve been snowboarding in Whistler and Banff is a much different boarding experience! Banff is very open and with that it didn’t feel busy at all and you have a lot of freedom to go wherever you please. The views were beautiful as you will see below!

We did many runs and at one point we accidentally went down a really steep hill (almost like a cliff?!) and had to go down on our bums because we were so scared!! We took a much needed break for lunch and had some (overpriced of course) poutine & wings. Next, we did some more runs in the afternoon and headed out to beat the rush and check out the town of Canmore on the way back to Calgary. Canmore is such a cute little town and the houses are STUNNING and massive. It sits in the middle of the mountains, everywhere you look in the town, mountains are surrounding it! Super cool.

Tonight Sierra arrives in Calgary and Sam and I are leaving shortly to go pick her up from the airport! Tomorrow we’re headed back to Banff but this time we are going to explore the town, the famous Lake Louise and the hot springs. Sam will be our tour guide!

WOW!!! Great pics Morgan. The mountains are so beautiful in the snow. Grandpa and I have been to Banff three times (in the summertime ) and the mountains looked very different from the gondola in the winter. Enjoy your time in the village today and Lake Louise is another breathtaking sight. We walked on a trail around part of the lake, but not sure if you can do that in the winter.
I am so excited to see your blog.
    Much love, Nana June
