Bonjour one last time…
Our final day in Paris felt long, since we had until around 8 pm in the city until we had to catch our train back to the UK.
We checked out of our hotel around 10am and left our bags locked up so we didn’t have to lug them around all day. Next, we took the Metro to a beautiful place for brunch called Angelina’s. A place I would highly recommend for breakfast, brunch or even just lunch. There was a little bit of a que (British for line up) but it didn’t take too long to get a table. We were seated in the back part of the restaurant and it was beautiful. We decided to go all out and get the full brunch, which came with coffee/tea, a vitamin juice (kind of like a smoothie), regular and chocolate croissants, bread with a variety of jams, eggs Benedict and a bowl of fresh fruit salad. It was all delicious and very filling.
We then decided to walk to the Galeries Lafayette, which is a big indoor mall that has all sorts of brands, majority being high end brands. The building itself was stunning in the inside and there was even a rooftop terrace where you could get a beautiful view of Paris all around and even the Eiffel Tower. We walked around all of the floors, there is 7 in total including the rooftop area. We each bought a couple things, spent a little too much money and then left after a couple of hours of being there. Next, we walked up the street a little ways and stopped in at a café and got a crepe and mojitos! We couldn’t leave Paris without getting a crepe, of course!
After our crepe we headed back up to Montmartre and I bought a baguette, hummus and some salami along the way to enjoy in a park like a Parisian would. So funny seeing people literally carrying around baguettes and eating them like that. We went for another drink at one last café to use up the last of my euros and then headed back to the hotel to grab our suitcases. We then walked to the train station Gare Du Nord, where we caught the Eurostar train back to the UK. It is crazy how fast the trains go and we were back in the UK in only 2 hours… we got off the stop before Kings Cross and Tracey picked us up and we headed back to their house. It was another long and exhausting day but so much fun and well worth getting the latest train out of Paris to have another full day in Paris.
Next up… a lovely high tea in Southend, by the sea!
